Readings and Pantene Commercial

I think that this class is going to be great for me to understand more about the background of feminism. Up until this point I have always viewed myself as a feminist, but never had enough information to back up this view or feel comfortable being vocal. The readings that we have for class on Tuesday definitely gave me more information about the history of feminism and it's founders. After class on thursday somebody showed me this commercial and it does a  good job of summing up some of the negative stereotypes that are associated with the modern feminism:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K2kfgW7708. I think that because of these negative stereotypes I have been wary in the past to be more vocal about my views. The stereotypes that are in this commercial are definitely very accurate today as far as what some people believe. The stereotype that men are dedicated, when women are selfish for putting their careers first is definitely very true. In the liberal feminism article it talks about how John Stuart Taylor took the opposing view that women's being limited to the home is actually selfish in itself, because women are limited to a very small number of people that they think they can help.
