Atlas Week Event: Faith and Injustice
I was invited to see the booth of proxy organized by InterVarsity which was showcasing faith and injustice throughout the history. The first poster had the options of slavery, mexican-american war, and japanese-american internment and asked me to put a sticker on an event that I thought was the worst event. I chose slavery because I feel it still exists in the form of human and sex trafficking of women and we still haven't found a solution to it. The next part we talked about social injustice happening in our community or to be more specific Saint Louis University and how we feel about it and I had to choose from the words listed and put a sticker on it. One word that had the most stickers was "desiring change" and that shows how the students are not satisfied and want everyone on this campus to be equal whether the matter concerns with gender, race, or class. I just found that booth interesting and to see that the students also want change in this matter.
