Housewife vs Working Women

These are two types of categories  women are usually put into, either they are a stay at home or she is a working women. I think that either way people look at both of these categories in a negative way sometime. If the woman introduces herself as a working woman, she is usually given the tagline of being ignorant towards her family because she didn't leave her career after having kids. Similarly, especially today, if a woman is stay at home mom, she is looked down upon and assumed that she doesn't know how to do anything. However, people tend to misunderstand the sacrifice the women makes as a sense of her not knowing anything.
I grew up with my mom being a working woman, but I never felt that she was unable to fulfill any of her responsibilities at home. She would wake up the same time as my dad, go to work, come back, cook dinner, clean, and go to bed. Along with work, she showed interest in my school worked and helped me out, or even came and supported me in my extra curricular. My mom sometimes wishes she had more time with us, but I always use to say that we probably couldn't handle her 24/7 in the house. Even though that was to make her feel better, I agree with that because now it has made me more independent. In the last 18 years of my life, I was never under the impression that she failed her responsibility as a mother. I think a balance between personal and professional life will make a woman successful.
Similarly, I had a conversation with one of my friend whose mom was an housewife and I asked how it was always having your mom home or how she feels now since all her kids are off to college. She started out saying how it was always nice knowing that there is always someone at home waiting for you to come home or even helping out with the smallest tasks possible. My friends mom was happy and she did not regret being an housewife, however, now she wants to go and work because she feels the emptiness in the house. Listening to this, I think it is important for a woman to understand the pro's and con's of being a housewife or a working woman.
